thanks for all your answers - obviously I would be using this computer for all my home computing needs as well as word processing for work. I don't really play games, but would like to - my current computer is way too old and slow to support sims 2. I also publish sheet music which I know will work fine on this computer - thanks again!

First off, the system requirements for the SIms 2 are as follows:

If you have a T&L capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM then you need at least:

    * 800 MHz processor or better

    * 256 MB RAM if Windows Vista, XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000

    * At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space

If you have a non-T&L capable video card (an Intel Extreme Graphics or a Radeon 7000/VE Series) then you need at least:

    * 2.0 GHz processor or better

    * 256 MB RAM if Windows Vista, XP, Windows ME, Windows 98, or Windows 2000

    * At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space

    That's from

Is it a good computer for the price? Only you can decide that. In my opinion, it is far more computer than you need, for what you say you would like to use it for.

There is only Service Pack 1.

SP2 is not out for Vista yet.

as long as the processer is above 2.4 GHz, the ram above two GB, and the graphics card about 512 MB, then you're good.

I would update your service pack to 2 or later if posible.Decent storage capacity
