What would be the Muslim stand to debate Geert Wilders movie FITNA?

I mean, he's quoting directly from the Koran and those verses clearly describe Islam as an intolerant and bloodthirsty religion.

The film clearly is not an academical investigation but it manages to simplify their means in a very understandable way, doesn't it?

Thanks for taking your time!

Islam is a bloodthirsty and intolerant religion.

It incites hatred of Christians, but more especially the Jews.

The Koran says that the Jews are like donkeys!

62: 5 The likeness of those who were entrusted with the Taurat (Torah), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example (or the likeness) of people who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.).

2:96 says that they are the greediest people...

And verily, you will find them (the Jews) the greediest of mankind for life and (even greedier) than those who - ascribe partners to Allah (and do not believe in Resurrection - Magians, pagans, and idolaters, etc.). Everyone of them wishes that he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from (due) punishment. And Allah is All-Seer of what they do.

Note: animal analogies are used a number of times

Sabbath breakers are said to be like monkeys...

2: 65 And indeed you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday). We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected."

In short the various passages say horrible things...

2:61 says that al-lah stamped wrtechedness upon them.

4:61 Says that they (and Christians) believe in idols

    5:52 they are cursed.

    5:93 the Jews are cursed

    5:51 don't take a Jew as a friend

5:53 Jews (and Christians) are losers

5:57 Don't choose Jews, (or Christians, or disbelievers) as guardians

5:59 Jews (and Christians) are evil-doers

    5:63 Rabbis do evil

    5:51

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust).

Really the only time they are supposed to is in order to get new converts, or out of necessity.

It is not permissible for a Muslim man or woman to take a male or female friend who is not a Muslim, because Allaah has forbidden us to love the kuffaar or take them as close friends and companions

    http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/69876

It is permissible for you to let your aunt stay with you so that you can call her to Islam and encourage her with wisdom and beautiful preaching, If she sees you and your good attitude and kind treatment, that may be a means of opening her heart to this great religion. Attitude and actions may often be more eloquent than words and preaching. So strive hard to do that, and if Allaah guides her at your hands, that will be better for you than this world and everything in it.

    Question :

In the Quraan, it says that we can not take the Kuffaar as awliyaa, but what does that mean? I mean, to what degree? Can we do business with them still? If I'm at school, can we play basketball with them? Can we talk to them about basketball and stuff? Can we hang out with them as long as they keep their beliefs to themselves? The reason I ask is because someone I know does hang out with them in this way and it doesn't affect his beliefs, but I still tell him, "Why don't you hang out with the muslims instead?" He says that most or many of the Muslims drink and take drugs where they hang out and they have girlfriends and he's afraid that the sins of the Muslims will lure him, yet he's sure that the Kufr of the Kaafirs will not lure him because that's something that isn't attractive to him. So is hanging out with them, playing sports with them, and talking with them about sports considered as "taking them as awliyaa instead of the believers" keeping in mind that he is doing that for his own eemaan?.

    Answer :

    Praise be to Allaah.

    Firstly:

Allaah has forbidden the believers to take the kaafireen (disbelievers) as friends, and He has issued a stern warning against doing that.

Here's a site that sincerly believes all non-Muslims are condemned, so friendship requires the invitation to Islam.

Since you have feelings of concern for your friends, why don;’t you give them Da’awah (invitation) to Islam. It is stated in the Hadith that ‘A true friend is he who invites his friend to the straight path, i.e. towards Islam, good deeds, charity, etc.’ Make lots of du’aa for your non-Muslim friends that Allah grant them the wealth of Imaan and that they realise the truth from falsehood.

Again the issue of being freinds for the purposes of conversion arises...

" Islam is the religion of tolerance, ease and flexibility, and at the same time, it is the religion of justice. Hospitality is a part of

I had a lot of trouble watching this movie, I was physically sick by some of it. I would say that the Muslim world is either upset because it is all lies, or upset because it's the truth and have been found out! Either way, it is disgusting!! Do Muslims really want to kill everybody that isn't a muslim? I cannot understand that way of thinking. Kamran: I said it is ether the truth or all lies. To be quite honest, I don't think that saying why has it taken 1400 years to come out is a fair statement. I for one have not been around for 1400 years and cannot comment on the other 1360 years that I didn't know about, but I can say for the last 40 or so years that I have been here, it has only been since Muslims have brought themselves into the spotlight by terrorising non muslims that I had even known about the Koran. No, I don't pretend to know each verse, but how can the words "kill the non muslims" be taken any other way? Or am I completely wrong and is it us Christians that have brought all the attention to the Muslims? Kamran: Please tell me how the thousands of innocent people in and around the World Trade Center were ATTACKING the muslims? Also the hundreds of tourists in Bali in October 2002, and the people in London in July 2005, and the people of Madrid, Spain in March 2004 Need I go on????

So basically you're believing him? Do you have a Koran sitting on a table in your lounge somewhere? Have YOU actually tried to go and check if Geert really quoted from the Koran and not change anything? And no don't go onto websites offering Koran verses and then read those. Get an actual Koran and find that verse and then read it, and you might be surprised.

None Muslim reader of Qur’an always mislead the real message of the verses from Qur’an. Those verses that always misquote were revealed during the battle period and not applicable to the present time. Those people who use the qur’an to push their evil mind are not Muslim. These people are termite.

In the Bible Exodu 32 verse 27-28 commanded his people to kill all none-believer in the name of God. In the Book of Numbers, Chapter 31, verses 17 and 18. Here, Moses, following the Lord's command, orders the Israelites to kill all the Midianite male children. The order continues with the following:

". . . kill every woman who has known man by lying with him,

but all the female children, that have not known a man by lying with him,

    keep alive for yourselves."

Deuteronomy 21:10-14 the Biblical "God of Love" gives the following command:

"When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the Lord thy God hath delivered them into thine hands and thoust has taken them captive, and seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and have a desire unto her, that though would have her to be thy wife, then though shalt bring her home to thine house . . . and after that you may go into her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife. But if though have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go".

  • O.K. alot of speaking from the wrong end of the body going on with this one. First of all I'm muslim. Born and raised in america and converted to Islam. anyway, you want to know what the quran really says? Do you want to be objective, or do you have an agenda? If you have an agenda it doesn't matter what I say. If you want to be objective then check out these websites; www.thenoblequran.com very good english translation. www.tafsir.com goes into a more detailed meaning of quranic verses from hadith and muslim scholars, mainly the companions. So there you go. Personally I don't care what you people think about islam. It is the truth and it shall remain until the final hour has begun. It calls the people to all that is good and forbids them to all that is bad. wghile you people fight and kill and rape and rob and plunder and call it war in the name of humanity or democracy. Yet you want to say the muslims are bent on war. thats all they talk about. So which of the muslims started either of the world wars? none. Which of the muslims started the korean war, or the vietnam war? what about panama? none. not one started by muslims. All of them where started by you people. In fact ALL the major wars in recorded history have been started by non-muslims. So who is blood thirsty? We fight to protect our religion our families and our lands from those who want to turn us away from our religion. As for terrorist then you can't attribute that to all muslims any more than we could attribute being christian with liking young boys. and there is plenty evidence for one to propagate that with. Or school shootings abortion clinic bombings or just the average nut that walks into his local church and guns down folks because he doesn't like there brand of christianity. And its the same with ALL of you guys. jews atheist hindus what ever. If you could you would ride the world of all those who don't think like you do by force or conversion (which ever you prefer that day). Have you ever heard of projection? thats where you have a certain belief and you project it onto others so that everything they do appears to fall in line with that belief as if they hold it but actually YOU are the one who holds that belief. I wouldn't debate with fart wilber or what ever his name is. as hasan al-basri said to the man who wanted to debate with him about islam. "As for me, I am certain of my faith. If you have lost yours then go and find it." Allahu Akbar. May Allah be praised and glorified and may peace and blessings be upon his FINAL PROPHET MUHAMMED IBN ABDULLAH. May He give victory to the believers over the disbelievers and may He have mercy and forgiveness for the muslims.amen.

The Messenger (Muhammad ) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, "We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers" - and they say, "We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all)." Allâh burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. "Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maulâ (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people." (Al-Baqarah 2:285,286)

I noticed when reading the Quran most of the 'bloodthirsty and intolerant' verses were really only relevant to when Muhammad was pillaging arab pagans.

P.S. They were taken out of context.
