R & P, G & R & Goth fans does anyone remember this very old Punk group that started in 1974 in Cleveland Ohio?
Here's Gun's & Roses doing a cover song of one of the the songs of this Punk band I'm talking about--
Here's the king of Goth Peter Murphy (solo & lead singer of Bauhaus, & from Dali's Car too)--here's Peter Murphy with Nine Inch Nails doing a cover song of one of the songs of this Punk band I'm talking about--
Also here's the Punk band Dead Boys doing a cover of one of the songs of the Punk band I'm talking about--
Here the actual Punk band from Cleveland that started in 1974 that I'm talking about--
This band reunited in 2003 & recorded a reunion album, which was the first time all the original members of this band that's still alive, got together to play as band since 1975. I say all the members that's still alive, because one of their original members--Peter Laughner died 31 years ago. Laughner had severe drug and alcohol abuse problems that led to his death by acute pancreatitis in 1977, at the age of 24. Here's some more links about them & Peter Laughner--http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_from_the_Tombs
When this band reunitited in 2003 they had Richard Lloyd who was in the New York band Television taking Peter Laughner's place.
Has anyone heard of this very old Cleveland Punk band, that was together & around in 1974 & 1975? If so, do you have any favorite songs or albums of theirs?
Wrong, Pere Ubu came from this band though, in fact members of Frankenstein & Dead Boys also came from this band. This band was around before Pere Ubu.
So far I like Migh's & Padraig's answers best, although Crispy was right too. the reason I like Migh's & Padraig's especially is because they want to find out about this band & also Migh wants to know about Pere Ubu as well. So far Migh & Padraig & everyone else who answered this question, I'd recommend getting Pere Ubu's 5 cd box set titled "Datapanik In Year Zero". In "Datapanik In Year Zero", it has other bands on their 5th cd, like Rocket from the Tombs & a lot of other bands from Cleveland that I think I will bring up on future questions. Also as far as Rocket from the Tombs, there's a couple of cd's out-- one from their original days titled "The Day the Earth Met the Rocket From The Tombs", & the other one is from a reunion they had with Richard Lloyd-solo artist & from New York experimental Punk band Television fame & lots more working with bands than wikipedia knows about--replacing Peter Laughner on guitar since Peter Laughner had passed away quite a long time ago.
The other reunion cd I'm talking about of Rocket From The Tombs' is called "Rocket Redux" which they put out about 5 years ago. Also, Rocket From The Tombs should have a 3rd cd out soon--if not already, of new material coming out.
Oh yes, before I forget Padraig is right, Rocket From The Tombs is not the same band as Rocket From The Crypt & you're right Padraig, the use of Rocket From The Crypt's name isn't very original.

Rocket From The Tombs* was a little before my time, but being an Ohio boy, I certainly have heard of them. I haven't heard enough of their stuff to pass judgment but I am a fan of Pere Ubu and the Dead Boys, so I should probably check some out. Thanks for the reminder. So many bands, so little time...
*- not to be confused with the 90's band Rocket From The Crypt, which also rocked, even if their name wasn't terribly original.
