    1.A psychoactive drug or psychotropic substance is a chemical substance that acts primarily upon the central nervous system where it alters brain function, resulting in temporary changes in perception, mood, consciousness and behaviour.

    2.These drugs may be used recreationally to purposefully alter one's consciousness, as entheogens for ritual or spiritual purposes, as a tool for studying or augmenting the mind, or therapeutically as medication.

    1.Anesthesia

    2.Painkillers like narcotics morphene

    3.Psychiatric medications which include Antidepressants, Stimulants

    4.Recreational drugs like Stimulants, Hallucinogens

    A psychoactive drug is one that affects the mind. Examples include all recreational drugs (marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy...) as well as all psychiatric drugs (antidepressants, anti-psychotics...).
