Is this the real issue? Is this bailout going to shift our country to socialism under Bushes Republican watch?

Isn't the bailout the same? Why? Why not?

Update:

Some people countries are able to care of their own countries needs first then help others. My country has to put all of it's efforts on the other side of the world and I can no longer exit in mine. Meanwhile our troops fight all around the world.

Bailout or no bailout, we will pay the price down through the ages!

Whether it's President Bush's doings or the result of a faulty congress, we the people are going to fit the bill for more years than we care to acknowledge. People can call it socialism or anything they want, it is the cost that is coming into play that is going to have them screaming

for relief and there will be no relief!

The real socialist is Obama who wants to inject Hillary's broken health care plan on the american people. No, Bush is not responsible for this bailout. The fact is, the plan was worked out in a meeting with both candidates last week. It's a bi-partisan bailout, which means both partys are responsible.

A social democracy will do the rest of us out here in the Rest Of The World, thanks. And what's wrong with that? Norway is a social democracy, has a standard of living that makes the USA look like Bangladesh, almost no crime, Europe's highest average earnings, outstanding public transport, is one of the few world economies with a trade surplus, an environmentally responsible attitude, has top notch socialized medicine, and isn't exactly known for starting wars for the sake of oil. Or for any reason come to that.

Yes, a social democracy in the USA would be good thing for Americans and the rest of the world I reckon.

We already have socialism in this country, courtesy of the combined efforts of both parties. Wake up!

Those uneducated congress men and women have completely ignored this critical issue and continued to play politics as usual.

In a few months, as we start to see,

a)massivle closing of banks, business, factories, stores, ....

    b) massive lay-offs across every sector

    c) additional massive home foreclosure

    d) massive reduction of personal credit card limit by banks with skyrocketing high interest

    e) students can not get their college loans

    f) business has no money to invest, to build up their inventory

    g) department stores have no money to stock up their Christmas season merchandises

    h) Uncle Sam starts to shift people's focus to start a WWIII,

    ....

Then we will learn what GWB and its Republicans have done to this country.

The majority of Congress is Democrat, so your question cannot be answered with a "yes", as your premise is false.

Socialism will not solve the problem, by the way. It will only makes things worse, which is what the Democrats, and many of the Republicans, want.

right now they are to the left of teddy Kennedy, no wonder most true republicans won't support the bail out.

I don't know, but isn't it interesting that it will take a socialistic action to provide a remedy?

What does that imply about a pure greedy capitalistic system advocated generally by Republicans?
