Conversation

Bob struggles with the concept of conversation . People with AS〈亞斯伯格症〉often

have a special interest that they can become extremely knowledgeable about, often talking on and on about it and not noticing the listener,s non-verbal cues that suggest he or she has heard enough ﹙losing eye contact , looking around the room , looking at a watch ﹚. People with AS may also enjoy collecting things , which can go along with their special interests . Bob has collected everything from wrappers to dead insects over the years but his latest craze is Doctor Who . Collections and special interests can often dominate the conversation .

At other times , Bob will insist that Mum“has a conversation”with him and gets annoyed if Mum does not think of an interesting subject in two seconds flat . Bob does not understand that you can not force someone to have a conversation , but that it should flow naturally . With the support of his speech therapist , Bob has recently made some cards with topics of conversation on that are interesting to him . He can carry these cards about with him . They are play-card-sized and laminated . They help Bob to choose something he would like to talk about which takes away from Mum some of the pressure to think of a topic of conversation when she is thinking about other things , such as crossing the road . We call them “Conversation Cards”.

    Conversation

Bob struggles with the concept of conversation , people with AS〈亞斯伯格症〉often have a special interest (in something ) that (can makes them) become extremely knowledgeable about, ( they usually talk) on and on about it and (don’t notice) the listener’s non-verbal cues (which) suggest (that) he or she has heard enough ﹙e.g. losing eye contact , looking around the room , looking at a watch ﹚, people with AS may also enjoy collecting things , which can go along with their special interests . Bob has collected (many things) from wrappers to dead insects over the years(,) but his latest craze is Doctor Who, collections and special interests (which) can (always) dominate the conversation .

At other times (time 表次數才可加s, 表時間不加s), Bob will insist that (mum) (should)“(hold) a conversation” with him and (will) gets annoyed if (mum) (can) not think of (any) interesting subject in two seconds flat , Bob does not understand that (people) can not force (anyone) to have a conversation (, 去除) but that it should flow naturally .

With the support of his speech therapist , Bob has made some cards with (conversation topics) (recently) ,(which) are interesting to him and (can be carried with), they are play-card-sized and laminated (can) help Bob to choose (topic) he (would去除) like(s) to talk about , (that can takes) away (part of the pressure) from (mum) to (figure out) a topic of conversation when she is thinking about other things , such as crossing the road . we call them “Conversation Cards”.
