If someone is homeless, what would happen if they went to a police station and said that they don't want to...?
be arrested for vagrancy and are willing to work, but that they just don't have anywhere to live. Is there a standard way of dealing with that?

If they got really lucky and found someone EXTREMELY nice at the front desk, they may give them a number to the local homeless shelter....but unfortunately it is very likely that in my city they would just give him a dirty look and escort him out of the building

if i was homeless, had nothing to live for, no real possessions, i would commit a crime that would put me in jail for the rest of my life so i could have shelter and food :|

They send them to me, and I do the dirty work.
I get a check every week.
