Everything, there is too much to mention, because it's by nature different for every person.

i wasn't in psychology... but sociology.. so i'll try to wing it for you.

well, people identify by either how they want to personally feel or how they let others make them feel.

in the American society, the media makes the people paranoid.

people all identify with clothing by dressing in a way that others will accept them or in a way that others should be able to respect them.

what is this deal with 'sub cultures'?

if you mean simply a culture inside another culture, then the people tend to conform to their surroundings in one way or another.

Source(s): my excellent sociology teacher i had in high school, he was a great teacher at teaching this subject and he made it so interesting i learned so much.
