Lie a newspaper over it and iron it. The wax will melt and absorb into the paper.

Use Acetone. Marble is porous (which means that it absorbs, almost like a sponge). Use Acetone on an old clean rag and go over entire floor until the old wax is removed. After that, you might want to use a type of sealer before applying any other floor wax.
If its a shine you want just a plain old cheap 99 cent furniture polish will shine for you. always use caution when using any type of wax on a floor area as marble is already slippery.

HI
My suggestion is use a wax stripper. Strippers are mild alkaline and they do not harm the floor.
However ensure that you dont leave it on the floor for a longtime.

... or you might as well scrape it off with a wooden or soft plastic spatula (icecream spoon, piece of wood, etc.). Also, a bit of petroleum based solvent might do, as wax is most oftenly soluble in petroleum. Actually most of the time, it's not wax but parafine... Good luck!
