How do I make a Lan connection with 2 computers ?

How do I make a LAN connection with 2 computers "one upstairs and one downstairs" using an ethernet cord, and a wireless router. All I want to do is go on the internet with one computer and play my bro in a LAN game on both computers. I need help step by step. the computer downstairs is connected to the router which is connected to the modem, this computer is basically my host computer" ANY IDEAS FOR HELP

connect all the pcs using wereless

connect both pcs using ethernet hub

connect via usb hub

connect 1 to usb & other to ethernet

As long as both computers are connected to the same Router (wirelessly or by cable) then they are have a LAN connection to each other.

The router should be able to handle both of you going online on the Internet at once.

More details depend on what game and what your setup is.
