AVG Free Anti-Virus Software and internet pages timing out?
My laptop's a little over two years old and until recently I've always used McAfee for my anti-virus software. I can no longer afford to renew it, so about two months ago I downloaded the AVG free version. Since then, I've had problems with internet pages constantly timing out, and it's making me out of my mind. All of the computer nerds I know swear that AVG is the best, but it's making me crazy.
Is this normal and what can I do to keep from going insane?

There is a very good free alternative. It is not one program, but a combination of 3 programs I am going to suggest to you. All free and very good and reliable.
Then you install Threatfire. Threatfire is an anti virus, you can install on the same computer next to any other anti virus program.
To protect your computer even better also agians mal ware install
Comodo anti malware
This program runs in the background and does not take up any extra
RAM or CPU usage.
They work very well together and you are as well or better protected than with McAfee.
In case you do not have a good firewall

It's probably caused by a new feature in AVG called Link Scanner. Turn it off in "Preferences" or switch to Avast (www.avast.com)
