The phone line coming into my house vibrates.?

I'm perplexed. Anyone know what would cause my phone line to vibrate? The line coming into my house periodically does, and when it happens it makes a nice buzzing/rumbling sound against the pipe it's secured to.

check outside for the telephone wire. see if it's damaged or anything.
