How do I use one Line to make two separately switched 'loads'?

The existing light is wired direct to the light and 'looped' to the switch. So when I tried to do what seemed right for adding the second switch all I really did was make a half 2-way. Is there a way I can piggyback the existing wiring to add my second light and not have to run new wiring for both switches/lights?... show more The existing light is wired direct to the light and 'looped' to the switch. It is only about 5 ft from the existing light.
