Is watching Star Trek a good means by which to learn proper social skills?
I know it's a good source of moral and ethical learning’s but I've come to expect the same reactions to appalling situations from normal people as I do from Star Trek characters and quite frankly real life people don't give a damm about the wrong doings of people and how messed up the world is and they look at me oddly and react very negatively when I become passionate about there immoral reactions to the MANY problems in this world.
Update:
Star Trek the Next Generation is the series I grew up on and watch the most.

Sure . you can learn a lot about how things should be by watching Gene Roddenbury's fantasty world. But ,you must remember ,it's not reality .. It's nearly Utopia.
