Each year the Senate and the House of Representatives consider thousands of bills.?

The ideas for these bills come from various sources. Name at least two sources for these ideas and give an example of an idea each source might suggest..?

How does the Supreme Court's 1995 ruling on congressional term limits affect Strom Thurmond's membership in congress?

Should the Supreme Court set limits on a congressperson's ability to serve based on age or health?

    Sources for bill consideration:

Environmental groups (such as Sierra Club)

    Unions (UAW, Teamster)

    AARP (Retired people)

Pro gun and anti gun groups

local residents living in representatives district may suggest a bill

    foreign governments

The 1995 ruling declared states could not limit terms in the U.S. House or Senate unless a constitutional amendment, like for the President term limit, was passed into law.

No. Limits based on age or heath would conflict with previous Supreme Court rulings restricting discrimination based on age and certain disabilities.

"How does the Supreme Court's 1995 ruling on congressional term limits affect Strom Thurmond's membership in Congress?"

It didn't affect it at all. Thurmond ran for re-election again in 1996 and won and the Court's ruling had absolutely no affect whatsoever on whether or not he could run again.

"Should the Supreme Court set limits on a congressperson's ability to serve based on age or health?"

There is no legal basis for the Court to do that. If they did, they would very blatantly and obviously be writing new law. God knows that they do that often enough anyway, but if they were to do this, it would all so patently obvious that they had overstepped their authority that the other branches of the federal government would ignore what the Court had said.

All charges for elevating gross sales, which ought to contain tax charges, are meant to originate in the homestead of Representatives. It replaced into set up that way for a reason, individuals of the homestead get elected each 2 years and are under the greater political tension than the Senate. The appropriate courtroom ruled that it replaced right into a tax, so it ought to have originated in the homestead.
