Explain the reasons the church took so long to make Joan of Arc a saint.?

    There is a huge amount of redtape involved in making a person a saint in the Catholic Church. Many people thought she was crazy and did not believe she talked directly to God. Miracles have to be examined and approved before someone is declared a saint.

    If you are curious, a more modern case of sainthood involves the Miracle at Fatima in Portugal where 3 small children met with the Virgin Mary.
