Some people will tell you that each number has an equal chance to be picked. In theory this may be true, but, there is a balance to randomness. Out of, say, 52 balls with numbers ranging from 1 to 52, I doubt if you will ever see 1,2,3,4,5,6 being chosen in your life time. You will see a range of numbers taken from each group of ten. If you add the total of each lotto drawing, you should see a range of around 155 - 170. This is because of this balance of randomness spread out from the 52 balls being used. So, pick numbers that add up to this theory of a balance of randomness.
