Virus! Spybot Search and Destroy Question.?
Ive downloaded spybot search and destroy because my computers been infected with a LOT of spyware/malware and stuff.
So spybot deletes all of the crap except this one file called "smitfraud" or something and it says "cannot delete smitfraud, its in use. can Spybot run on your next system startup?" and I go "yes"
So then when the computer starts and spybot tries deleting it, it still doesnt get deleted and spybot gives the same error!
How do I remove smitfraud? :(
Please help, this virus jazz happens like every couple weeks and Im forced to reinstall windows each time, resulting in losing all my personal stuff.
The thingee is called "smitfraud-C"

I would suggest that you get Avast Home Edition version 4.8.
It now protects against spyware, rootkits, and other forms of nonvirus malicious software.
Best of all, it's free for personal use.
Avast is a very effective and free anti-virus program because it can do
a boot time scan in safe mode and it will remove all viruses on your PC.
Even those stubborn trojan viruses that hide inside the system restore folder.
Avast Anti-virus installation
How to configure Avast ?
Very good virus detection rates

Backup your personal work to a portable device.
Why don't you download a descent anti-virus (avast), anti-malware (boclean) and firewall (comodo). Along with Javacool's SpywareBlaster, SUPERAntiSpyware and SpybotS&D. Burn these to a CD or USB device.
Reinstall yours Windows OS, update to SP3 on XP, or SP1 on Vista.
Install Avast, BOClean, Comodo Firewall Pro, and other software.
Create a System Restore point here. Create a recovery disk at this point, and/or create a disk image - search for Acronis and get the trial version
I do not understand how your computer can get infected every few weeks.
I personally recommend you to get McAfee SiteAdvisor latest version, and Web-Of-Trust (WOT) for both Firefox and IE(if used).

You can backup your stuff on a CD or USB drive you know.
But I would suggest booting in safe mode and scanning with
You can also use Smitfraudfix on safe mode
To enter safe mode press f8 at the boot screen or go to start>run>msconfig>boot.int>/safeboot

I would recommend googling for a free file unlocker. Once unlocked you should be able to delete the file.
