Apple Crisp recipe WITHOUT cinnamon?

I want to make apple crisp for my H-T-B and I but he is highly allergic to cinnamon. Does anyone know of a recipe for a good apple crisp MINUS the cinnamon?

Use brown sugar and a dash of nutmeg or allspice (which is NOT a combination of other spices, it is its own spice). That'll give you that autumnal flavor.

What a bummer cuz apples and cinnamon really do go well together. But you can just leave it out even though it will probably be lacking in that "extra" flavor.

I have added a drop of maple flavoring to apple baked goods, you could also try a dash of cloves, or nutmeg or anyone of those that you normally think of together. Also adding some cherry pie filling or if you are making your own making your own add some frozen cherrie or blueberries for a little extra flavor.

7-8 medium baking apples (preferably Granny Smith)

    1 Tbsp margarine or butter

    1 cup brown sugar

1 cup all-purpose or sweet rice flour

    1/2 cup margarine or butter

    1/2 tsp salt

Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Grease baking dish lightly with some of the tablespoonful of margarine, and place apples inside. Dot with additional margarine. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt. Mix well. Cut in the margarine to make coarse crumbs. Spread evenly over apples. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 30 minutes until apples are soft and crumbs are browned and starting to caramelize.

8 cups sliced and peeled granny smith apples

1 1/4 cups light brown sugar

    1 1/4 cups quick-cooking oats

    1 cup all-purpose flour

    3/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup butter or margarine, softened

Place apples in 13x9 inch baking dish.

Combine remaining ingredients in large bowl and mix until crumbly.

    Sprinkle over the apples.

Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Cinnamon is an added layer of flavor NOT essential to the recipe.

    Simply leave it out.
