Downloading at 900 KB/sec?
I have to download this 4.5 gb program for my engineering class
My friend told me it only took him 2 hours to download. He said it was downloading at 900 KB / sec
Is that even possible?? .. because my rate is only 90 KB / sec at max
He said his ISP is Road Runner
I'll have to ask my mom about what mine is
How can I find the best available ISP? What will the fee range be for the best, in terms of downloading speed, ISP?
Please excuse any misuse of technical terms
Thank you :)

If you have RR at all, you can top 4-5MBps easily. If you have a download accelerator like DAP (download accelerator plus) that can pull from multiple hosts simultaneously, then you'll crank it down in no time.
~Edit~ I've got middle of line RR and I pulled 4.8MBps, as I recall, download from Fileplanet.com.

yes, if you get the more expencive roadrunner packages it can be quite fast, and yeah my friend has it and i was downloading a debian torrent at 2.2 MB/s
