    I guess when you have a career as long as his, you expect some changes in viewpoint to evolve and shift. Once Obama gets a little experience, we'll be able to spot his shifts. A more important question would be is why do the American people flip-flop so much? It must be nearly impossible to represent a district or state given that most states are about evenly divided politically.

    Its not a flip flop. He was against it before the recommendations was released. After that, he said he still didn't like it but understood that it was the only option. How is that a flip flop?

    He did not flip flop!! This was done under Federal not under The Congress. His or Bushes or obamas opinion was not considered.

    mccain dislikes government regulations/interference, but he knows when the government must interfere (supported fannie mae and freddie mac regulations)
