Alright everybody, give the guy a break. I don't believe he meant to offend anyone, he was just unsure of terminology, which is not unreasonable. It is easy to confuse the terminology without a great deal of exposure to the lifestyle and you know it! Not to mention alot of people's only knowledge of t-girls comes from porn where they are most commonly referred to as she-males. Also, there are alot of guys who aren't attracted to guys, and would never be with a guy, but love t-girls. They often are smart anough to realize that alot of people would consider that 'gay' bahaviour and are acknowledging the irony by including parenthesis around "straight." I am a t-girl as well, so let's not all get our panties up in a bunch!
I think a great way to meet t-girls is online. You can meet quite a few on MySpace, Alt.com, URNotalone.com, chat rooms etc... and various other sites. I have made TONS of freinds on MySpace and the other sites! In fact, until I got on them, I had no IDEA how many people were into girls like me! I get hundreds of emails and friend requests a week from admirers of both sexes (which is AWESOME because i'm bi and it offers SO many options ; ) Actually keeping up with MySpace is almost a part time job at this point!
Also, in Orlando there is a wonderful gay complex called Parliament House http://www.parliamenthouse.com/default.asp . I have been there several times (I live in Fort Lauderdale) and they are very open to all kinds of diversity and it is very comfortable and open, so try that out. If I can be of any more service let me know. Until then, good luck! : )
Update: Thanks KTC you are very sweet < blushing > Keep in touch and I hope you find that one special girl!
