Difference in meaning between 有る and 在る Japanese?

Question

I knew once, but now I have mixed them up in my mind, and cannot find any recourses to clarify. Thanks.

Also, if you are that good could you explain the use of 或る, I have only ever seen it written in kanji compounds on street signs...

As you probably know, 有る, 在る, and 或る are all read as ある.
Although nowadays all three are mostly written in hiragana, you can use the Kanji to differentiate between nuances.

有る is more like, to have.
彼は自転車が有る。
He has a bike.

在る is more like, to exist, to be.
学校の隣に銀行が在る。
There exists a bank next to the school. There's a bank next to the school.

或る is used to mean "a certain" or "some".
或る朝、僕は親父とけんかした。
One (certain) morning, I had an argument with my father.

The 有 in 有る means "possess" or "have". It can be read as "yuu", "yu" or "u". For example, it is used in 所有 or 有給, or 有無 etc. etc.

The 在 in 在る means "exist" or "be present". It is read as "zai". You see it used in 存在 or 在日, or 健在, etc., etc.

或る is more of the generic ある like 或る日 or 或る人 or 或る時　or 或いは.

Of the three, 或る is probably the least commonly used.

在る is "exist" or "be" but "be" in somewhere. If you want to use the verb "to be " you have to use the verb である　(dearu)
