I don't really know your style because you didn't mention it! But I went with Forever 21 because it's really hip and fashionable but really affordable as well.
Casual Dress option:
Wear with leggins/tights and a cute bag
Casual Dress option 2:
Pant and Top option:
Dressy skirt option:
(or another black/white printed skirt)
Casual skirt option:
with (in a coordinating color)
or just a plain t-shirt in off white/a color that goes what whatever pretty skirt you choose!
Don't forget to accessorize!
I don't know your style so I just picked some real basics for the most part. I kind of assumed you were pretty laid-back just because you said you never dress up unless you have to. So that's why I showed some pant combinations. But don't be afraid to try a dress or skirt! They flatter basically all figures. If you don't usually wear dresses, you can try a dress with leggings underneath - practically like pants. If you don't know what you accessorize with, go with gold if your clothes are neutral (black, white etc.)
Good luck and I hope this helps!

How about a nice pair of slacks with a cute blouse.
Good luck. The fashion police are everywhere

Just wear a pair of nice black pants like these:http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=50455&... or something similar
And wear a nice dressy shirt like a button up shirt or even just like a nicer casual shirt just not a T
