Could McCain take New Mexico away from Obama?

Latest Rasmussen data on New Mexico says "For the first time all year, John McCain has topped Barack Obama in a New Mexico poll. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows McCain attracting 49% of the vote while Obama earns 47%."

Wasn't New Mexico a double-digit win for Obama?

I really think he will....I live in Texas on the New Mexico border, and with a huge Hispanic population, like New Mexico. And it turns out my city, which has voted Dem since 1986 is going Republican Red.

You're forgetting the most important aspect of the elections, something that's not often reported... voter registration!

In Pennsylvania alone the Democrats have a 1 MILLION voter advantage over the Republicans. Same in New Mexico and New Hampshire. Even Florida is reported to have gained up to 600,000 Democrats in the past year, and Ohio and Virginia have also seen substantial gains.

So not to worry, Obama is doing more than well - actually, if you're a McCain supporter, I WOULD be worried, ha.

McCain should probably be worrying about Indiana right now. That should be bright red....and even at the peak of his convention bounce....he's up by 2 pts.

McCain drops Indiana, and it's over for him.

    Doubt it.

But, even with McCain having the majority of the toss up states... he doesn't win... he needs more than New Mexico.http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama...
