Lying about his military experience: in a 1973 personal account http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/2008/01/28/joh... he claimed that within a few days the Vietnamese learned his dad was an Admiral which made them decide to give him medical treatment, nowadays his story turns more dramatic to claim that he was offered early release when they learned about daddy and he refused.
This raises serious questions about his version of "Code of Honor" in light of the fact that much of the ACTUAL code consisted of not helping the enemy. well "Songbird McCain" made some 36 propaganda recordings, and gave US Military positions and flight routes. Before getting shot down he not only crashed 4 jets, he is likely responsible for the Forestall disaster. Accounts describe that he "Wet Started" his jet, creating enough flames to scare the pilot in the jet behind him. Well that flame reportedly ignited a rocket on that jet behind him and that rocket ignited McCain's fuel tank causing the horrific deaths of about 165 servicemen
