    typical bee wing-beat frequency=190-250Hz

18,000rpmV10(or now V8) F1 engine.produces 9000power strokes per minute from each of its 8 or 10 cylinders(4 stroke cycle engine)9000/60=150power strokes per second. each of the 10(or8) cylinders of a V10 F1 engine will be making an exhaust noise at approximately 150 Hz as compared to the bee at 190-250Hz. the F1 engines frequency will be somewhat higher as all 10(or8) cylinders don't fire at the same time.

(pack of wild bees, as opposed to pack of domestic bees?)

The reason for this is because F1 engines are tuned to rev very high, to over 19,000 rpm. Compare that to a road going sports car, which tops out at just over 7,000 rpm and you can see a big difference. Couple this with the power the engine is producing (750hp compared to say 200hp) and this only aplifies the sound.

Because of the high revs there is a high resonance which is why you get such a high pitched sound. The cars used to have this but with a bit of a deep throatey backdrop as they had bigger beefier engines with more cylinders.

ur lucky on the TV u get onlyto here the wild bee sound of f-1 cars....if they had been broadcasting the real sound.....u may not even been able hear the commentry!!.....if u will try and stand next to an f1 car(without ear plugs that is) and ask the driver to hit the throttle(in nuetral...gear)....den i wont be surprised to find u with an ear drum specialist(no not the next day but the same day)....!!......

also not all f1 car engines sound the same....an f1 nerd may even be able to differentiate btw all the engines on the grid....Ferraris sound diffrent frm Mercedes-Benz(Merc) engines,Merc sound diff frm Renault engines~!!

The most unique sound is that of an Renault engine according to me.....

....to get the sound of an renault engine do this(not sure if it may work or not)-

close your nose with ur thumb and index finger.....and start saying AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (the sound of A must be as in Amend or america not like in ate or atom!!).....try getting the sound out of ur nose(but the nose shld be closed).....hope it works.....also imitate the gear change ......good luck .....;-)!!!

Because they aren't allowed to use V12 engines anymore, just piddly little V8s.

This is what an F1 car should sound like:
