    1) I think something soft sounding for someone shy like Katy, Sophie, Maisy, Daisy, Tuesday, Summer or something simular.

    2) I think something with a sharp sounds then like Laura, Katherine, Katrena, Janice, Natalie or Lauren.

    3) I think something like Craig, Danny, Dave, Darren, Thomas.

    4) I think something like Max, Jamie, Mike.

    5) Something like Thomas, James, Daniel, Michael, Stephen.

I agree w/the first person, but character names definitely catch the readers' attention, and since it's a book, names CAN be descriptive. For example, Margaret sounds like a more old-fashioned girl, loves to read.. Brittany sounds like an outgoing, modern girl.

1 - First girl - shy - Aloria, Louisa, Melody

2 - Other girl - Kathy, Alex, Meghan

    3 - First girl's brother - Russel, Charlie, Thomas

    4 - Goofball - Ross, Whit, Adam

5 - Genius - Reid, Shane, Kade, Ronny

Check out this website with various character trait names:

For example: Archibald means "genuine courage"

    Clementina means "gentle and merciful"

    Ami means "reliable and trustworthy"

    Rafe means "wise wolf"

    Ray means "wise protector"

For the shy girl, perhaps a flower or celestial name would fit her personality -- Rose or Diana.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I don't think parents name their babies because of personality traits, so why should you?

Develop your characters so that readers will care about them.

Once you have accomplished that, then what their names are is secondary.
