    Queens are 6ft wide

    Kings are 5ft wide

    EDIT : I have just checked and it all depends whether in US or UK.

    In UK, Queens are bigger, in US Kings are bigger hence why all the confusion on here.

    Mattress Sizes:

    Queen--60 x 80 inches (or 153 x 203 cm)

    King--76 x 80 inches (or 198 x 203 cm)

    King is bigger

    A king sized bed is bigger.

    In the Uk, a standard single would be 36 inches wide

    A double would be 54 inches wide

    and a King size would be 60 inches wide.

    I think that a Queen size would be 48 inches (three quarter size).

    It's different in USA were the terms are used more widely

    In USA a Queen would be 60 inches wide (equivalent to UK King) and a King would be 72 inches wide (UK super King).

    A king is slightly wider and longer than a queen. Unless you are looking at a Cal King which is the width of a Queen but adds close to a foot in length.

    Queen = 60" x 80"

    King (Eastern) = 76" x 80"

    Cal King = 72" x 84"

    A king size is bigger. If you want bigger than that, you can ask for a "California" king size - any larger than that, & you're looking at a custom sized bed, which only certain places will do. You can remember it this way, a king is "at the top of the food chain - he rules over everyone else, so he's the biggest".
