I saw that exact thing happen at an Air Force base, where a general did not stop at the gate because he had been drinking, so the SF chased him back to the VOQ where the general then tried to go inside like nothing had happened. When he was told to stop he he kept walking, so they had to pull a gun on him and take him to the ground. Of course him being a general he raised hell, but the SF did his job correctly and nothing happened to him.
An MP or SF while on duty has the same authority as the highest ranking officer on base, so if they tell you to do something you has better do it.
