i need to know the steps of how to preserve insects!!?

i have a butterfly the broke it's legs i.m waiting for it to die. how do i preserve a butter fly? please use a lot of detail since i have never done this before. thanks

    Insects are easily collected and preserved as pinned specimens. In this form they make an attractive permanent display.

    The basic techniques of pinning, spreading the wings and drying of insect specimens are quite simple and require little in the way of apparatus. Have a look at this website: It sounds pretty easy.
