California. It is home to 8 species of venomous snakes, all Rattlesnakes:

Southern Pacific Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis helleri)

Great Basin Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis lutosus)

Northern Pacific Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis oreganus)

    Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox)

    Red Diamondback (Crotalus ruber)

    Sidewinder (Crotalus cerastes)

    Speckled Rattlesnake (Crotalus mitchellii)

And last but not least, the Mojave Rattlesnake (Crotalus scutalatus)

Florida comes in second with six species of venomous snakes, three Rattlesnakes(Eastern Diamondback, Timber, and Pygmy) and three others(Copperhead, Water Moccasin, and Coral Snake).

Texas does: 8 different Rattlesnakes, Cotton Mouth (agkistrodon piscivorus), Copperhead (agkistrodon contortrix) and the Coral Snake

    Rattlesnakes: Western Diamondback (crotalus atrox)

    Eastern Diamondback (crotalus adamanteus)

Mottled Rock Rattlesnake (C. lepidus lepidus)

    Prairie Rattler (crotalus viridis)

Timber or Canebrake Rattlesnake (crotalus horridus)

    Northern Blacktail Rattlesnake (crotalus molossus)

Western Massasauga Rattlesnake (Sistrurus catenatus tergeminus)

    Pygmy Rattlesnake (S. miliarius streckeri)

I know Wikipedia say's the Eastern Diamondback stop in Louisiana, but trust me we have them in the piney woods of east Texas.

Yes, but they are not seen often. I lived in Ohio for ten years and saw one only once. There are copperheads, swamp rattlers (massasaugas) and rarely timber rattlers. Even southern Ohio is far north for water moccasins, but maybe they are there. The diamondback does not occur in Ohio. It is a more southern species.
