As an avid reader of the "supernatural" for over 40 years I have read so many author's that after awhile you tend to forget the truly unforgettable. One of my favorites is The Silver Wolf trilogy by Alice Borchardt, sister of Anne Rice. Noel Hynd (Ghosts, Cemetery of Angels) and Bentley Little (The Revelation, The Walking, The Ignored, The Return, The House) are great horror writers as are Douglas Clegg (The Attraction,The Abandoned, Nightmare House, The Hour Before Dark) and Brian Keene( Ghoul, The Rising) I also enjoyed Blood and Chocolate. If you don't mind gore, try Edward Lee's "Infernal Angel" and his other works. Hope this helps. And I agree, the "supernatural' genre is great escapist material. Who wants to read about the "real" world when you can enter a world of ghosts, haunted houses, zombies, vampires, werewolves and other things that go bump in the night? Fortunately, for us, when we close the book they stay right where they belong, in our imagination.
