You certainly can't blink that fast.
Sound travels about 1,000 feet per second. 0.01 second = 10 feet.
Lightning can travel up to half the speed of light. 300,000 Km/s ÷ 2 ÷ 100 = 1,500 Km.
Sound works best.

We have a drag race car. We have won and lost races by 1/100th of a second. It is about 1 foot in distance between nose to nose of your car and mine at the finish line. It is the difference between elation and disappointment. It is the difference between driver reaction and light blinking. It is the difference between cubic dollars spent to win the race.
It is a hard number to comprehend but I have seen it many times.
I like it best when time is on my side. Obviously.Source(s): 1/100 th of a second ... ten eye blinks - speed of sound, lightning burst, All are no way, that is too much extra time. It is just like that. Over. Isn't it also the difference that Michael Phelps won the swim competition by? All those things mentioned above relate. The difference of a hand attached to an arm reaching for the wall in the pool.

I don't think there's any relation to anything. Hope that helped.
