They have nice food! I went to a Turkish mosque once, where they were having a mosque fundraising session. The men (at the front of the mosque - it was segregated but the men were doing the 'shop keeping') were very respectful, and some of the women were a bit 'standoffish'. However, I guess that's with all communities. I know that Pakistani women can seem quite standoffish too. I guess it's because people are different to each other and can feel self conscious.
I don't know about the belly dancing-my mom and dad went to a Turkish restaurant once, and mom was telling me about this half nude belly dancer. She didn't like it. Thank God I didn't go with her. It would have been embarrassing.
On one hand the restaurant was labelled 'halal' and 'alcohol free' and on the other you had women in embellished bra's and little skirts, belly dancing. (At least, that's how arabic belly dancers dress in this arabic restaurant I went to once) Isn't that stupid?
There're Muslim singers in every country so that doesn't bother me!
Let me re-iterate - the food is HEAVEN-ISHLY tasty!
