    This would mean that someone put such a "spin" on a negative situation that it ends up sounding reasonable and rational. A person doing this is often referred to as a "spin doctor"...they "doctor" the truth.

    An example of this would be in the days leading up to the war in Iraq, Bush's spokespeople put a spin on the facts by making false statements leading people to believe falsely that invading Iraq was the right thing to do.

    They did, in fact, actually "pull off one of the best spin jobs in history".
