I have no disk for my macbook pro; what can I do?

I tried using the disks that came with my macbook to reformat my macbook pro (I don't have the original disks) but it wouldn't work.... what can I do to be able to format my macbook pro?

    Hi, why do u want to format your Macbook pro, u don't need to format it cause OS X isn't like Windows, if it gets any problem it can be fixed without a reinstall.

    To fix most problems, in finder go to disk utility and click on the disk where OS X is installed and choose repair disc permissions, that should fix it :)
