I need to know the answer to a question involving theater in Shakespeare's time.
While sets were minimal, elaborate ________ were often worn by the actors.

Fill in your blank with the word "costumes".
Elizabethan acting costumes, although not at all historically accurate, were pretty elaborate--silks and satins, lots of decorative lace and fake jewels, feathers and ruffles for the rich and noble characters, extravagant rags and patches for the poor ones.

i'm no expert, yet it reads so `actual` that it must be Shakespeare or between the Greats. Sorry i will't help greater, yet there's a internet site which will hint a poem from a single line of verse, in the adventure that your quote is precise.
