Well, if you want to live a good life in NYC I say forget it. Also, I don't know your age so I can't be specific. I say bring a knife or some sort of weapon, the streets of NYC can be rough especially if you end up at the wrong place. Also, get as much money as you can, you will need it for food, tell your friends the same thing. I would also plan on finding hideouts, the cops will be looking for you as soon as your parents find out that you have run away. Try to make sure you have a map that leads to New York too, so you do not end up in the wrong place. Also, ALWAYS stick with your friends, do not wander off, you will be prone to getting abducted. Best of luck living on the streets of New York (if you plan on going to NYC that is), and I hope you are used to violence, you will see LOTS of it.
My best tip would be to be a bit more patient, life can bring rewards that way, as for the running away decision, know this,
once you do it, there is ABSOLUTELY no turning back just KNOW THAT, so give it some more thought because once you have made that decision your education, your future and what you may become is all thrown away. Your shot of getting a good life after you bare with the one you have right now is thrown to waste as well. I hope you give that decision some more thought, just know whats on the line.
ALSO, find ways of obtaining CoCo (street slang in New York for Cocaine), if not at least get some weeds, and I mean LOTS of it, you will need to sell it. Best of luck in trying to be the next Frank Lucas.
Thought about running away when I was in the 8th grade, now I am going onto my senior year and laugh at the fact I was dumb enough to think that.
