oldest simplest recipe for ice cream is 1 cup sugar to 2 quarts of heavy whipping cream and the seeds from a vanilla bean. Blend the sugar into the cream until it is dissolved, stir in vanilla bean seeds and pour the mixture into the freezer container. this recipe works in ALL ice cream freezers. of course, you can use half n half instead of whipping cream if you wish for a less rich mixture!! and you can use any of the synthetic milks and Splenda or Stevia if you wish non dairy non sugar product. you can add 2 cups or more pureed fruit to the mixture for fruit ice cream. Keep the vanilla bean seeds or use 4 tablespoons vanilla extract.
