    homeostasis are the processes the body undertakes to keep the body at a constant temperature.

    salinity means the amount of sodium chloride in a solution or environment.

    pH is the percentage of hydrogen ions in a solution or environment.

    dissolved oxygen is oxygen gas that is dissolved in a solution or liquid.

    Homeostasis coined by Walter Bradford Cannon. it is the property of either an open system or a closed system, especially a living organism, that regulates its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition. Multiple dynamic equilibrium adjustments and regulation mechanisms make homeostasis possible.An advantage of homeostatic regulation is that it allows an organism to function effectively in a broad range of environmental

    conditions. For example, ectotherms tend to become sluggish at low temperatures, whereas a co-located endotherm may be fully active. That thermal stability comes at a price since an automatic regulation system requires additional energy. One reason snakes may eat only once a week is that they use much less energy to maintain homeostasis.

    Dissolved oxygen (DO) refers to the amount of oxygen that is present in the water. It is measured in units of milligrams per liter(mg/L), or the milligrams of oxygen dissolved in a liter of water.Just like humans, all of the water living creatures—from the worms that inhabit its muddy bottom to the fish and crabs found in itswaters—need oxygen to survive. While humans use their lungs to extract oxygen from the air, worms, fish and crabs use some form of gills to get oxygen from the water.

    As water moves across these gills, DO is removed and passed into the animal's blood. Gills operate more efficiently as the oxygen concentration of the surrounding waters increases.

    Salinity is the saltiness or dissolved salt content of a body of water.

    pH is the measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is formally a measure of the activity of dissolved hydrogen ions (H+)

    i know that homeostasis is the body at it's original state; not being altered by anything that could effect the ability to perform naturally.
