Germany is a founding member of the European Union. The Euro is official currency in 21 of 46 European countries. One of them is Germany. Euro coins have the same front side and on the back the individual design of their country, but are valid in all Euro using countries.
Samples of coins and notes can be found on attached website.

Germany is now part of European Union, and most of the EU countries do use the euro as their common currency. All euro coins and notes are valid in countries that use the euro, so it is very easy currency to use. Please note that not all EU countries use the euro, only some of them.
