Atheists did you know that the Bible has always taught the earth is round?
Isa 40:22 [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
Also that Time is an actual physical property as well as the fact that Space can be bent How did Isaiah know this ? was it a lucky guess?

A circle is round - a two-dimensional round shape. The earth is an oblate spheroid.
Congratulations. You have just proved the bible wrong. You're getting a star just for that.

Yeah...it's taught that it's round and FLAT. Like a pancake. "Round" does not mean spherical.
The people who wrote the Bible wrote what they saw. Imagine standing in the middle of the desert, and looking all around you at the horizon on all sides of you. If you didn't know better, you would think that you're standing in the middle of a giant circle. THAT's what they wrote about.
How could the "heavens" be "spread out as a tent to dwell in" if they knew the world was a sphere? They thought the sky literally came down and touched the edges of the Earth all around them. (Like a TENT.)

Four points refer to North, South ,east and West, also the Bible teaches that a believers sins are removed as far as the east is from the west, how far is that? they have no poles as the north and south poles. If God had said as far as the north to south that would not be to far. God is great isn't He?

actual, the bible in diverse passages, such simply by fact the single you point out, describe the Earth as greater of a disk. think of a coind, with us residing on one fringe of the coin, and the different part not being assessible. as a result, you have Jesus mountaineering to the ideal of the mountain and viewing the whole worldwide. this could be impossible on a sphere, yet completely in all probability on a disk-formed worldwide as indicated above. Sounds to me such as you're merely attempting to curve passages into something jointly with present day information of physics. however the bible could not get pi ideal, or that bats are actually not birds. So, sorry, you're incorrect. additionally, the belief of a around(around) Earth is going back to a minimum of 300BCE, the place a minimum of one Greek scientist actual calculated the circumfereance of the planet to interior some hundred miles. by way of Columbus' time, knowledgeable human beings, jointly with those interior the Church, have been rather conscious the Earth grow to be around. the belief it grow to be flat grow to be a holdover perception of uneducated people who did not recognize the clues in front of them.

It also says insects have 4 legs, women can be instantly turned into pillars of salt, animals can talk, day and night have nothing to do with the sun, women can be born of men's ribs, people can fly bodily upward and rather than die in the vacuum of space, they go to a magical land in the clouds.

A circle is not a sphere.
The bible also teaches that bushes can spontaneously combust and talk to people, bread falls out of the sky, you should publicly stone your neighbor if he plants two kinds of crops in the same field, and genocide is just peachy, so long as the people you're killing aren't jews. Nice "science and morals" book you've got there.

If it was truly an inspired work, it would have described the earth as a sphere. The Hebrews had a word for ball, and it was not used.
Instead, a flat circle. Which happens to correspond the the accepted cosmology of the ancient Middle East.

Pizzas are round, too. Doesn't mean you can have a ball of it. And the whole Leviticus "anti gay" passage? Doesn't say anything about lesbians, does it? So God likes muff bumpers, does he?
Thanks for entertaining us with another round of Christian Bible Interpretations!
Now try out Exodus 35:2 for a really good time.

The Greeks had already hypothesized the earth was round/spherical before The Bible was written.

You would think that, before asking such questions, you would know the difference between a circle and a oblate spheroid.
