Opening a recording studio is no different than becoming an electrician or opening a restaurant or any other business.

First, you'll need to learn your trade. It wasn't until after my 50th album that I started to feel comfortable enough to go out on my own and do this kind of stuff. Also, it was 5 years before anyone would trust me to make big purchases.

If you are really interested in recording then I would suggest working at an established studio. You'll need an internship which isn't easy so I would suggest teaching yourself about electronics and electrical repair. Get good with a soldering iron so you'll at least have something to trade for your internship.

    Good luck
