    set up a proportion

    14.6 lbs per hr/1 hour = x lbs/ 8.75 hrs

    14.6 lbs____ x lb

    ------------ = ------------

    1 hr______8.75 hrs

    you cross multiply the 14.6 and 8.75 to get 127.75 and cross multiply the x and 1 to get x then x=127.75

    14.6 (8.75)= 127.75

    x= 127.75

    ( the underscores are just to show the proportion better don't worry bout them)
