what is this white jellp like stuff in my fish tank ??

i did a water and gravel change last night and noticed when i pulled my ordaments out to give them a clean i noticed all this white gooey jelly mucucsy stuff floating around my tank....i have tested the water a day before this water changed and all my readings were good but for some reason i lost 2 fish in 2 days and another 1 is sik....is this stuff the explantion of why they died if so what is it ???? and how can i prevent it from getting in there again.....i have never seen it before and i do everything right with cleaning and regular water changes....i dont over feed my fish....please help :)
