Can anyone identify this music video?

Question

I've been trying to remember the name of a song- I remember the music video had a guy jumping off a building at the end. Something about a friend trying to help him out and not being able to? I believe it was a guy singing. I just remember thinking at the end that it was so sad he decided to commit suicide even when he had friends who cared for him.

Was it a Rob Thomas music video? I know he had one where he was in an apartment and stuff. The walls were all colorful and the rooms would be switching constantly. But one question, is it a girl or guy singing? That would help to narrow it down.
