Ocarina Notes??

I been playing the Ocarina for a while now. My question is what is a Eighth Note, Sixteenth Note, Dotted Quarter Note, Tie, Eighth Rest, and Sixteenth Rest. I also want to know how long you hold it. Like 1,2,3,4, and so on.

My Ocarina is a 6 Holes also if that help you. Please answer my question.

An eight note, sixteenth note, and dotted quarter note are just time representations.

So take a 4/4 beat measure. That means there are 4 counts to the measure and each quarter note gets 1 beat. So then just do some math.

An eighth note is half of a quarter note, so it gets half the time a quarter note gets. IF a quarter note gets 1 beat, then an eighth note gets a 1/2 beat. Which means a sixteenth note gets a 1/4 beat. A dotted quarter note is 1 and 1/2 times the amount of a quarter note. So it'd get 1 and 1/2 beats.
