A synthesizer is actually an electronic device, usually used as an instrument, that can synthesize sound. Synthesizers are often used alongside real instruments for music, or sometimes even as a replacement for real instruments. Listen to almost any techno song and you'll probably be listening to a lot of synthesized sound.

You can play techno nonstop for over five minutes, but whether it is a nice tune or not depends on the song and your opinion.
