    check out any romance novel...anything by Lynn Kurland, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Johanna Lindsey, or NIcole Jordan.

    Also you might like the Dark-fever series by Karen Marie Moning.

    Both Madeleine L'Engle and the late Marion Zimmer Bradley used female protagonists.

    Novelists Joy Fielding (See Jane Run) and Janet Evanovich (One for the Money) also have female detectives.
